When Junie B was a baby, I often used to make lunches for The Chief and the two older girls before they all set out for the day -- and would always include a note, usually in silly verse. I guess this one was especially worthwhile, because The Chief saved it! Classic poetry, it isn't. But it's definitely "me." :) And I thought it a fitting tribute to present it here today. To Us!
There was a young woman from Gowanda,
Who drove a Ford, Toyota and a Honda
Who knew what she'd find? She'd leave it all behind --
For a guy in a pickup*, she'd bond-a.
They met in a Rochester Mall,**
And immediately she felt herself fall
If it weren't for that binky, would her life still be stinky
Without any love at all?
So now they are happily married
And although life can be a bit harried
Life's as good as it gets, and it's clear the best yet's
Still to come long before they are buried!
Love,
Your favorite resident poet,

*that'd be a pickup truck -- but of course, you figured that ...
**the touching good story of how we met can be found here : The Blind Date that Started It All :)
