Part II: In Which I Eschew Further Reflection in Lieu of Running a Post Intended for January 2009, But Instead Landed in the Drafts Bin of History.
I don't know why I never posted it -- all it needed was ... a few pictures ... (oh yeah ... that.) And, technically I guess, as a "Blogaversary" review, it really ought to go from April '08 through April '09. But this one's already done. My blog; my rules. (It is my third year of blogging, after all!) :D
Anyway, Ta-daa! Here it is! Hope you enjoy.
Meredith at Sweetness and Light picked up on this really fun meme, and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to try it too. What a fun way to review the year -- and to re-enjoy (for myself, at least!) some past posts!
Here's what it's all about: You take the first post you did for each month of the year, and quote the first sentence of that post. Then you follow that with your favorite photo from that month's posting. We sure had some pretty great times in 2008... starting with
"First of all, a very happy New Year to one and all!" --a remarkably creative and original start, wouldn't you say? :) found in Twelve Days Post (Finally!) Updated!
"This has been a tough week--first I was sick, then one by one nearly everyone else in the family caught it. We've all been very tired and cranky and feverish and tired and cranky." found in On the Mend!
"Right Said Red of Building Cathedrals posted a conversation she'd had with her husband the other day, as an intro to her post on the vagaries of food storage containers: ..." found in It's All About Stewardship
"But the spirit lives on!" found in The Chocolate is (Pretty Much) Gone ...
"This week we celebrated Ascension Thursday with a (freezy cold) picnic atop the little hill behind our barn, where we like to go sledding in the winter (it wasn't terribly idyllic, but it worked!)" found in The "Mary" Month of May
"My little Taz, that's who!" found in Look Who's Five!
"Jennifer at Conversion Diary (formerly Et Tu?) had a post up about a month ago concerning housekeeping, and its relative importance in the whole scheme of things." found in Thoughts From Amid the Clutter
"(That's from a line in one of my favorite movies, That Thing You Do.) :)" found in "In Your Patience Possess Ye Your Souls." Lk 21:19 (KJV)
"My dear sister, so far a glorious cancer survivor, just came out of radical mastectomy surgery today." found in Thoughts on Prayer and Fasting
"A whole lotta prayin' been goin' on for this election, by a whole lotta people who didn't want this moment to come (including yours truly)." found in Well: OK, Then.
"Let the baking begin!" found in Jolly Old St. Nicholas (and Yummy, too!)
